Round 1 will be the first of a three round championship where, to qualify for full Championship points & Hammers prizes, all three rounds are to count.

This event will be a fast moving, dynamic race with competitors competing on an extremely rapid, fluid course in short heats, ranging from 20 minutes to 60 minutes long. Races begin with various start plans and have a target of completing laps as directed within the heat time and breaks before the next heat starts. Competitors should plan on competing in approximately 6 heats across 2 days of racing. There will be access to a hot pit during racing.

Based on which class teams compete in, the course will vary in length and technical terrain. For all classes, there will be a mandatory Joker element per heat on a particular part of the course. The qualifying for this event on the Friday 28 Apr 23 to will allow every team to attempt a short complex course to achieve their best time to get their start location on the grid for the Saturday heats. Results from the Saturday will dictate team start positions on the Sunday.  Prize giving will follow 1 hour after the last heat finishes. There will be an opportunity to Pre-Run the course on Friday 28 Apr 23.

Access to the site will be possible from 0900 hrs on Thursday 27 Apr 23.

Full timings, site mapping, specific course and event schedule details will follow in Driver Confirmation email, sent out to all registered drivers 6 weeks prior to event.

Admin pit area close to the race course, showers and food vendors – we are also hoping to encourage a sponsors area – new for 2023 – where sponsors can promote their products and services whilst also providing some support to race teams.

 Event Format

The event is a mixed heats format with all U4 classes racing at different times on a similar course. The main course will be used for all classes and there will be changes to the course after certain heats to make driving a different experience.

The main race event will be divided into 5 competitive sessions, 1 on the Friday night, 2 on the Saturday and 2 on the Sunday. Teams are expected to compete in each session - Start order of the subsequent race session is based on the finish order of the previous session. Overall finish positions are based on the Team with the maximum number of complete laps in the fastest time.

The schedule is designed to be fast and flowing – TEAMS MUST PAY ATTENTION TO THE TIMINGS and assist Core Team staff and be ready for line up times – Late for line up may stop you racing!!!

There will be elements of the course which must be completed AT LEAST ONCE PER HEAT – called JOKER LAPS – this will apply for all Heats in all classes. These are additional parts of the course will be marked as a loop away from the main course and will return back onto course, more technical in terrain, which certain classes will HAVE to complete ONCE PER HEAT for their laps to count. If these loops are not completed, time penalties will be allocated.

SUBJECT TO ENTRIES the following classes are expected to compete together (this will be confirmed/ modified at the Driver Briefing)

4400 - UNLIMITED/4800 - LEGEND/ WRR in one heat

4500 - Modified/ 4600 - STOCK / 4900 – UTV in one heat.

If classes have 3 or less entries – ULTRA4 EUROPE reserve the right to amalgamate classes.

SOS Boards

U4E uses the following safety system whilst vehicles are on live course to swiftly deal with emergencies on course:

If at anytime a Team has to stop on course during a race for a safety/ emergency reasons, they must deploy SOS board, visible from the course direction towards that vehicle to alert other drivers that there is a need for help. First team on scene must STOP and assist. Second Team on scene must get vehicle No., crew name and status and drive to next Marshal location and alert Race Ops of the situation.

If at anytime a Team has to stop for a non emergency reason, they must deploy a OK board on rear of the vehicle in full view of following vehicles. When seen by other teams, there is no requirement to stop and assist.

 Marshals and Recovery

There will be marshal locations at various points on course. They are eyes and ears for Race Ops but also the easiest and quickest way for a Team to request assistance. Please follow all marshal directions and decisions.

Recovery will be on hand to remove vehicles stuck, broken down or needing assistance to return to admin area. This will be controlled by Race Ops. Any vehicle using recovery will be deemed as to have had outside assistance. The lap this has occurred on will be voided from the Team lap count.

ADMINISTRATION

Campsite safety

All Teams must be aware of the fire risks associated with Motorsport and the close proximity of Team campsites co-located. All Teams must ensure the following is carried out in their camping area:

Teams must have at least 1 fire extinguisher within their camping area, 24 hours a day,  readily available and its location known to all Team members.

Please respect the location where we are guests at:

Take all litter home and leave nothing on site when departing.

Leave your admin pit location as you found it.

Please keep noise to a minimum during the hours 2300-0700hrs.
